<♗> He doesn’t even raise his head from where he’s leaning against his palm sitting at the bus station bench, near zero indication that he’d even heard the stranger if it weren’t for—
“I got up at 4AM to finish an essay with only a deepening feeling of rejection for college education for company and then I’ve been in class all day trying to make sense of anything my professors were saying at all. Put that into your consideration and think carefully if you really want to accuse me of doing anything to you. Then, and only then should you make your next move.”
It would have sounded threatening, but the string of sentences were threaded by a calm, factual tone from a boy who hadn’t even opened his eyes.

As soon as the redhead spoke up, Eric was prepared to send out a barrage of apologies. It wasn’t like him to get such a reaction after he’s finished a book, and definitely wasn’t prepared to have someone think that he was talking to them. Especially a stranger. Though he listened, the brunet slowly reached up to rub at the back of his head.
"I… I’m sorry you had to go through all that today. I don’t want to sound rude but… I was talking about the end of my b-book. It left me with a sense of distaste, could’ve finished so much better.” And while Eric would’ve loved to tell the ending, he wasn’t one for giving spoilers, regardless on whether or not the opposing party was going to read the book.
“Are your professors really that hard to understand? I’m sure it’s just their way of teaching as opposed to their material, I hope.” He was always a pretty good study bug when he had to be, albeit lazy and otherwise preoccupied with a good story.
“Why would you do this to me.” Of course he’s not talking to the nearby stranger, but rather to his book which he just finished. A deep sigh, accompanied by the removal of glasses, Eric’s given up. That wasn’t the way he wanted the book to finish at all.
